About me
Profile
Science–Policy Translator, Research Leader, and International Expert. I am an agronomist with a PhD in Plant Genetic Resources and working across molecular biology, biodiversity, biotechnology governance, and agrifood systems. I am currently affiliated with the Rio Institute in Paris and work with the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, with a particular love for traveling and swimming.
Research and Science
I work across molecular biology, biodiversity, and the governance of emerging biotechnologies, with a strong emphasis on science–policy interfaces. My activities range from leading competitive research projects to supporting international programmes and policy processes under the United Nations system. A central aim of my work is to ensure that innovation in agrifood systems is scientifically sound, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable.
UN Specialist
As a FAO Biodiversity and Project Designer Specialist, I support international and regional programmes addressing biodiversity conservation, biotechnology governance, and climate action in agrifood systems. My role involves providing scientific and strategic input to programme strategy, project design, implementation, and policy alignment across countries in Europe and Central Asia.
Science Diplomacy and Policy Advice
My science diplomacy and policy advisory work is centred on international environmental governance, including the Rio Conventions. I advise governments and international institutions on biodiversity, biosafety, and emerging biotechnologies, supporting policy development and coordination across multilateral processes.
Publications
My published work spans molecular biology, environmental risk assessment, and science–policy interfaces. Through peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and international reports, I contribute to advancing evidence-based approaches to biotechnology governance and biodiversity protection.
